Don’t miss your chance to attend the first OutLoud event of 2026!
Argonne National Laboratory is where some of the world’s most pressing problems are solved through science, technology and innovation. Tackling big challenges requires big tools. Argonne’s world-class user facilities are the foundation of countless groundbreaking discoveries and advancements, bringing together Argonne scientists, academic researchers, government and industry leaders.
Argonne is home to six cutting-edge research user facilities, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). That includes one of the brightest X-ray light sources in the world as well as some of the fastest AI supercomputers. These top-tier tools dramatically accelerate research and provide insights that would otherwise be impossible.
More than 8,000 guest researchers from around the globe visit each year to use these tools, making Argonne one of the largest user research communities among the country’s 17 national labs.
The discoveries made with these specialized research tools touch our everyday lives in remarkable ways, from rapid advancements in cellphones, computers and cybersecurity to breakthroughs in modern medicine and pharmaceuticals.
In the next installment of our OutLoud Lecture Series, discover how these incredible tools are driving innovation, making groundbreaking contributions to science and adding value to your life.
The OutLoud Public Lecture Series is dedicating 2026 to celebrating 80 Years of Impact, as Argonne marks its 80th anniversary. Join us throughout the year as we commemorate this milestone with engaging special segments, exciting giveaways and a few surprises.
