We are pleased to advertise an STFC-funded PhD studentship in planetary science, to begin in autumn 2026, in the School of Earth Sciences, University of Bristol, UK. A single studentship is available and will be awarded competitively. Applicants may choose from the following four projects:

1 | Benchmarking major element isotopic compositions of chondritic meteorites
Supervisors: Tim Elliott, Ian Parkinson, Isaac Onyett, Kathryn Shaw & Chris Coath

2 | Exploring Saturn and Titan’s atmosphere with infrared spectroscopy from the Cassini spacecraft
Supervisors: Nick Teanby & Jessica Irving 

3 | The deep interior of Mars
Supervisors: Oliver Lord, Jessica Irving & Bob Myhill

4 | An embarrassment of riches: reconciling our solar system’s platinum problem
Supervisors: Oliver Lord, Ian Parkinson & Kathryn Shaw
