Meeting Program

Meeting sessions will take place throughout the day on Monday, August 11, and Tuesday, August 12, as well as on the morning of Wednesday, August 13.

Sessions are planned on the following topics:

• Status of SEES beamlines and other developments for in-situ rock and mineral deformation
• Mechanical influence of fluids in the seismogenic zone, critical zone, and cryosphere 
• Mechanical influence of heterogeneity in geomaterials
• Atomic-scale process controlling rheology on short and long timescales

Each session will feature invited keynote speakers, who are currently being finalized.

There will also be a poster session on Day 2 (Tuesday, August 12) as well as time for working groups to meet on Days 2 and 3.

Finally, all attendees are invited to a tour of the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 13. Shuttles will leave UChicago at 12:30 pm and return to campus by 6:30 pm or earlier.
